SNOW,SNOW,AND MORE SNOW

Next year I'm just gonna have to keep my mouth shut. Why you may be asking, well I had just said on Monday that if it's going to be cold outside we might as well have snow and now we have SNOW. Yesterday was a very long day first I ended up having to work 14 hrs at the nursing home because I live only 2 blocks away. Second I had reports and homework to do that I did when I got home last night at 9:00, after I had gone to my ambulance meeting. Lastly I went to bed at around 1230-1245am, fell asleep around 115, and was rudely awaken by my pager for an ambulance call at 330, I returned home at 610this morning and figured there was no point in going back to bed. I am so glad that this is my last week of school, other than I will miss having class with all of you. I will be sure to think of all of you when we are flying out Monday am. Good luck with all that you do and be good, or if you can't be good at least be good at it...

SNOW

Well the snow is here!!!! I like the snow for the most part, and as long as it's gonna be cold we might as well have snow. My boys were so happy to see the snow last week on Thursday that they had to get into the back of my truck and sweep it out of the box so they could play in it. This morning they were up early because it snowed. Bo said, "mom do I have to go to school today?" and of coarse I told him "yea why" he said "I want to stay home and play in the snow!" I don't think the boys will spend much time in the house tonight. YEA!!! That means I will have quiet time to work on homework. This is my last week of school. Yea, I think maybe it should be more like YIKES, I still have 1 presentation to do and 1 paper to write and 2 finals to take! well, good luck to everyone in the future. busy night

I had a very busy night last night, I was to Gundersen ER 3 times in 12hrs. It started off with my son crashing his bike and coming home with blood running down his face, that wasn't so bad, he split the inside of his top lip, scraped his nose, the bad thing about the whole thing was that 5 min after he had told me what happened, he couldn't remember what had happened. I figured he had gotten a concussion out of the dael so I took him to the ER at Gundersen. We no more than got home from that and my pager went off for the ambulance. Back to Gundersen I went with the ambulance we returned back to Houston at midnight. Then came the 3rd time to go back to the hospital, 4:30am the pager went off again, and again we went to Gundersen. I think the people at Gundersen thought, what is going on here, 3 times in one night. I had very little sleep. My son has a doctor apt today again, I think he's ok. He really didn't want to go to school today, I told him that when his classmate ask what happenedhe should tell them, "you should see the other guy". He thought that was funny. Monday

Only 1 Monday left for me. Next Monday is my last Monday for this semester. As you have all heard Angie and I are going to Las Vegas on the 14th of December for 5 days, I just can't wait!!!!!
Thanksgiving was good, I got to spend time with my nieces and I also got to work over the weekend, now I won't see them til Feb or March. That sucks!!!! The next time I see them I will probably have a new niece. My poor boy are so out numbered, it is 3 to 7.
Over the weekend my grandpa started puking up stomach acid, and thats not a good thing, not with having stomach cancer. I'm not sure what's going to happen with that but I sure hope he doesn't pass away before I go to Vegas or well I'm gone. If that would happen my vaccation would suck!!!! That's all for now.

Thanksgiving

Well here we are the day after Thanksgiving. Hope you all had a great Turkey Day, mine was good. We went to my mothers for diner, I played with my nieces, after diner the adults played dice, I almost won, but my grandpa had the lowest score. I had to work the night shift at the nursing home Thursday night, it was a good night. Today is black Friday, I hope none of you were crazy enough to go shopping. I did the black Friday shopping once about 3 yrs ago, and I will never do it again!!! I hope everyone has a good weekend, see you in class Monday. By the way my grandpa is still going ok, now he is loosing his balance and falling down a lot. I think when this semester is over I'm gonna have to go take care of him, grandma says she can't hardly do it anymore. I don't want to see him go to a nursing home.

getting closer

Time is going by way to fast, but in a way that's a good thing. In 3 weeks from now I will be on a plane heading to Las Vegas. The thing I can't wait for the most is to see the look on my kids faces when they find out we are flying. We have been telling the boys that we are taking a bus all the way to Vegas, and they believe us, ha ha. I'm hoping we can keep the surprise until the 14th of December. Angie has been telling her son Brady, who is the same age as my boys that we are taking the bus so he doesn't rune the surprise, but he wants to take the bus with us. We have told the boys that the bus leaves from the airport just like the planes do, I can't believe that they haven't figured it out yet. I'm glad that they don't know!!!!

Another messy weekend

Well, it's Monday morning and I noticed on my way to school that the deer were not very fortunate this weekend. There were 6 dead deer on or along the road this morning, all within the first 6 miles of Houston, Yikes that's a lot!!! No I didn't hit any of them. My boyfriend on the other hand hit his first deer on Thursday night up by Leroy, MN, thankfully he hit the deer with his semi and not his car. He said he hit the buck doing 65, and all he saw were antlers with nothing attached to them. The car that was behind him had stopped to make sure he was ok, and told him the deer was still rolling down the highway when he swerved to miss the mess. Gross!!!

1 down, 4 to go

Well, this week I fineshed up with my math class. Yea!!!! Now I have to retake the math portion of the compass test. Hopfully my math class was worth taking. Now that I'm done with that class now I will have more time for my other 4 classes, which is a good thing, being I need to be done with all my classes before the 14th of Dec. In Dec. my family and Angie's family are going to Las Vegas, can't wait!!!! We have been looking forward to this since June.
I can't wait to see the look on my boys faces when they find out we are flying, they think we are taking the bus. It is there Christmas present so I am hoping we can keep it a secrete until then.
I don't know how many of you like Redneck jokes, but I do, so here's a Redneck joke.

"Hey, Virgil this here's Floyd...... Did the sheriff come?" "Yeah!" "Did they chop your wood?" "Yep!" "Happy Birthday buddy!" (Rednecks know how to get-eR-dun.) I just thought I would share these with you guys, I thought they were funny, hope you enjoy them too.
Just an update on my grandpa, he is doing good. He has not taken the four wheeler out lately, but he did drive to Hokah the other day, my mother told me it was a scary thing!

Short weekend

This weekend had to have been the shortest weekend I have had in a long time. Why you may ask? I had an EMT conference in Red Wing at the casino of coarse. Friday, all day & Saturday til 1:00. I did a bit of gambling when we were done with the conference, didn't win much, my boyfriend on the other hand could have came home with $300 more than what he came with, but we had fun playing it all back in. While we were in Red Wing it snowed, 1 1/2 inches, it was pretty but I'm not ready for the snow yet. Danny said the roads were slippery. Then we had bowling in La Crosse at 5:30, and on Sunday I was on call all day, Thank God there were no calls yesterday.

worried once again!

My Monday started off just like most Mondays do, school, kids football, then the day changed. We went to Winona for my kids football game, they had just got done & we were just getting into the truck when my phone rang, it was my mother, "Your grandpa went out on the fourwheeler earlier and didn't come back, dad has been out looking for him since 5. Hokah & Brownsville fire departments are here looking for him". "I'll be there as soon as I can". I told her. The boys & I made a fast trip to Hokah, as we were driving into Hokah my mother called again, "They found him, he's ok". I was releived!!! We went to the farm anyway just so I could give him a hug & some greif too. I told grandpa next time he wants to go out on the fourwheeler, call me & we can get lost together. He laughed an said,"Yea just like we used to". Just to let you all know grandpa has gained 8lbs in the last month, so he is doing great.

Road kill

Well I don't know if anyone else has noticed but there has been a lot of dead animals on, and along the roads latley. Just since Monday there have been 5 skunks, 8 coons, 3 deer and 6 apossums on Highway 16 between Houston & Hokah. No I didn't hit any of them.

Fall is here

Yea fall is here! I like fall, it is the prettiest season, the leaves change colors, the nights get cooler, fishing sometimes get better, kids go back to school. This year all 3 of my boys are playing padded footbal, Saturday was their second game and the won 19-0 so now they are 1-1. I love to watch my boys play football. Another thing about fall, bowling starts, and this year im on 2 bowling leagues.

This weekend I had 2 of my neices,Haley who is 2 1/2, and Jaden who is 1. I dont see them often because they live in St.Cloud my boys had alot of fun playing with them. I also started bowling this weekend, my average was 140, lots better than last year.

Hoping for better days ahead

Well today was the last day of radiation treatments for my grandpa. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer on July 27. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last 6 weeks. Now we are hoping his appetite will come back and his strength will increase. He is 84 and this is his 5th type of cancer.
